Need A Family Practice is a provincial list for people without a family practice (family doctor or nurse practitioner). To be added to the list, please visit

  • Number of people who have found a primary care provider as of November 1, 2017:  5,262
  • Number of people currently registered without a family practice as of November 1:  39,965
  • Percent of the total population in Nova Scotia currently registered without a family practice as of November 1:  4.3%
  • Number of people whose names have been shared with a practice who have not yet been accepted:  4,275
