The emergency department is located at the front of the hospital. It is open 24 hours a day.

To access the mental health mobile crisis team call 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.

Visitors are welcome between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. according to patient preference and care needs. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.
WiFi and Internet Access
There is free public Wifi. To request access, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting connection information. There will be an automated reply with the information required.
We want your stay with us to be as comfortable as possible. Patients requiring semi-private or private rooms for medical reasons always have priority; however, private or semi-private rooms may be available on request.
Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.
When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.
When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.
Private room: $175 per day - Includes one bed, one washroom and a private telephone.
Semi-private room: $155 per day - Includes two beds separated by curtains, one washroom and two telephones with a shared phone number.
Ward room: Covered under your Nova Scotia Health Card - Includes four beds (separated by curtains), a washroom and four telephones (the phone number is shared by two patients).
TV and Phone in your Room
Bedside TV and phone rentals are available for a fee.
During your stay, you will receive breakfast, lunch and supper daily. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive. Food is provided based on your doctor’s diet order.
Cafeteria and Vending Machines

Hours of operation:
Daily: 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., noon to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Spiritual Spaces and Quiet Rooms
The chapel is located on the level 2 in the Active Care-West Wing. The family room is located on the level 1, next to the emergency department waiting room.
Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital is a community hospital that serves the communities of Inverness and surrounding areas. The hospital’s Community Health Centre provides a space where services, programs and physicians offices are under one roof.
