Family Physician: Digby
Calling Nova Scotia home means ocean views, active living and welcoming communities. Practicing here means working with passionate colleagues, providing world class care, and helping people be healthy and stay healthy, for generations. The Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and collaborative community-based programs across the province.
The Western Zone is supported by three regional facilities, as well as a number of community hospitals and health centres. Specialty services are distributed among the three regional hospitals located in Bridgewater, Kentville and Yarmouth.
The Western Zone encompasses the coastal beaches and fishing communities of the South Shore, the Acadian and Cajun historic French communities on the Acadian Shore, and breathtaking farmers markets, apple orchards and vineyards of the Annapolis Valley. Western Zone is home to the centrally located Kejimakujik National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage recognized Bay of Fundy. There’s something for everyone in this region, all within 3 hours commute to the capital city.
The Digby and area Health Services Centre is looking to grow their team with a full time family physician! This new clinic with an EMR is just a few steps from the Digby General Hospital. Physicians will participate in an on call rota, have the option to provide ER coverage, participate in inpatient care and have access to procedure rooms for minor lumps & bumps. This is an attractive opportunity for physicians with academic interests who enjoy working with learners.
Compensation is a guaranteed income through an APP Agreement.
Opportunities are also available to individuals interested in providing locum coverage.
Located within the SouthWest Nova UNESCO Biosphere Reserve right along the Bay of Fundy, the Digby area has something for everyone. With world-class whale watching, authentic fishing villages, some of the best most succulent seafood, local vineyards, hiking, cycling, kayaking, golfing and safe communities for you and your family!
